Beloit residents gather for additional, informal public hearing on Ho-Chunk casino plan

Some Beloit residents didn’t feel satisfied with the public hearing held last week by the Bureau of Indian Affairs about the proposed Ho-Chunk Casino project, so they held their own.
Local contractor Bill Dorr organized an informal public hearing at Domenico’s in Beloit Tuesday night that drew a crowd of around 40.
Former City Manager Larry Arft was in attendance helped answer residents’ questions about the casino project to try and clear up lingering confusion.
Arft explained that most of the decisions for the project have already been made over previous months and years by city officials at public meetings.
He encouraged concerned citizens to continue to send their questions and concerns to the Bureau of Indian Affairs, which will require the Ho-Chunk Nation to answer them.
