The Janesville City Clerk’s Office sees plenty of interest in the upcoming City Council election.
Four seats are up for election in April and according to City Clerk Dave Godek, four people have taken out nomination papers to run. They are Incumbents Doug Marklein, tom Wolfe, and Sue Conley, and newcomer Richard Reineke.
Incumbent Jim Farrell has not taken out nomination papers yet, and he also hasn’t filed a declaration of non-candidacy. That deadline is Friday.
The deadline to turn in all of the paperwork to run for City Council including a declaration of candidacy, campaign finance registration statement, and a minimum of 100 signatures, is January 2nd.
