City of Janesville will pick up Christmas trees starting January 7

Christmas has come and gone, and pretty soon the City of Janesville will be ready to come pick up your Christmas Tree.
Operations Manager John Whitcomb says crews will pick up trees on the curb during residents’ normal trash collection time during the week of January 7th through the 11th.
Residents can also bring their trees to the landfill or cut them up and put them in their garbage bins.
The tree can still have garland and other decorations stuck to it, but he advises residents to not let the tree get frozen or stuck in curbside snow banks.
Beloit residents can also have their trees picked up during their regular garbage collection between January 7th and 18th, but their public works department requests that trees be free of any attachments.
