Pet licenses now available for City of Janesville

The City of Janesville is now selling pet licenses for 2019.
City Clerk Dave Godek says it costs 25 dollars, but spayed and neutered pets can receive licenses for 15 dollars.
Godek says the logic behind the license is to prevent rabid dogs and cats from spreading disease to humans.
The fine for keeping an unlicensed animal in city limits is 263 dollars.
Pet owners must provide proof of rabies vaccination and can apply in person or through the mail.
The deadline to avoid a late fee for a license is March 31st.
