The 44-year-old Las Vegas man whose DNA was linked to the 2003 rape of a Beloit woman is apparently taking a plea deal in Rock County Court.
Joseph Harold Ostrowski’s trial on charges of false imprisonment, first degree sexual assault, burglary, and armed robbery was scheduled to begin next week with the final pre-trial this Wednesday.
According to online court records Ostrowski appeared in court last Wednesday where he waived his right to a jury trial and a plea hearing was scheduled for February 14th.
According to the criminal complaint, Ostrowski broke into a Beloit woman’s home in the early morning hours of January 6th, 2003, bound her hands, sexual assaulted her, and demanded money.
He wasn’t linked to the crime until 2017 when Las Vegas Police collected his DNA as part of an arrest on an unrelated matter.
