A 35-year-old Beloit man is accused of beating up his pregnant girlfriend and stealing her wallet.
Michael Lee Leconte Sr. is charged in Rock County Court with disorderly conduct, misdemeanor battery, theft from a person, and bail jumping.
According to the criminal complaint, Beloit Police were dispatched to a business on the 1900 block of St. Lawrence Avenue on December 29th on the report of a disturbance.
The pregnant victim told police that she was arguing with Leconte, who is her boyfriend, behind the business, when Leconte choked her for several seconds. The victim went on to report that Leconte then pulled her hair, punched her, took one of her shoes and threw it over a fence, and took her wallet before walking off.
Police report that the victim displayed injuries consistent with her version of the events.
Court records indicate that Leconte was out on bond for a retail theft case from October at the time of the offense.
