The 48-year-old Janesville woman who plead guilty to homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle in November in connection with the crash that killed her fiancee will spend five years behind bars.
At Kimberly Adams sentencing hearing in Rock County Court Wednesday Prosecutor Scott Dierks said the November 2017 crash that killed 56-year-old Dan Johnson never should have happened.
Adams was previously convicted of OWI in 2010 and her 23-year-old daughter is currently serving a prison sentenced for a 2015 intoxicated driving crash that killed a Lake Geneva woman.
In addition to the prison time, Rock County Judge Karl Hanson sentenced Adams to five years of extended supervision.
