Rock County Sheriff Deputies track a man through the snow after he attempts to hide.

According to a news release, a detective was in Beloit in the area of Kenwood Avenue and Hacket Street on Friday when he saw a vehicle with two people who were wanted on warrants out of Illinois.

The detective began following the vehicle while waiting for additional officers to arrive. Before the detective could initiate a traffic stop, the driver stopped her vehicle in the 300 block of Vernon Avenue. The passenger, 28-year-old Brandon Lee Gray, exited the vehicle and ran away on foot.

According to the report, the driver then left the area in the vehicle.

Deputies from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, along with city of Beloit police and South Beloit police, set up a perimeter to contain Gray. A K-9 team from the Winnebago County, Illinois, responded to the area to help track Gray.

Since there was snow on the ground, the Rock County detective and the K-9 deputy were able to track Gray to the backyard of a home in the 300 block of Highland Avenue, the sheriff’s office said. Gray was found hiding in the garage and was taken into custody.
