YMCA of Northern Rock County CEO Tom Den Boer is placed on administrative leave in an announcement Wednesday by new board president Steve Yeko Jr.
Yeko did not explicitly state a reason for the leave but said the move is pending the outcome of an investigation the board began last week.
Leadership at the Y came under fire by concerned members and former board members who questioned financial issues and governance.
Former board member Jeff LaBrozzi says he and two other board members were terminated without a vote in 2017 and 2018. He brought up his colleague’s dismissal at a previous meeting and was told the bylaws had a clause to allow the board president to make those types of decisions.
Just days ago, he received a copy of the bylaws and could not find any such clause.
The statement from board president Yeko says all three previously terminated board members are invited to immediately resume an active role on the board.
