Beloit bank employee accused of stealing money through manipulating own account

A Janesville woman is accused of taking over $8,000 from the First National Bank of Beloit, where she worked.
27-year-old Amanda Douang is charged with theft in a business setting, and she made her initial appearance in Rock County Court (on Tuesday)
According to the criminal complaint, Douang authorized overdrafts on her own bank account that paid out money she didn’t have.
She worked at the bank for about a year before resigning in the middle of December.
The complaint says an employee discovered the insufficient fund transactions a few days after Douang quit, and she told police she had intended to eventually return the money.
Court records show she received and signed a $1,000 signature bond.
