A Beloit businesswoman is putting together the first Black Women in Business Expo in Beloit.

Vickie Lynn owns the skin care business Noni Lynn’s Naturals, and she believes the expo provides important representation to show young black women that they can be successful business owners.

The event will feature 14 vendors selling everything from food to jewelry to clothing and personalized items, and it’ll be hosted by comedian Netra MsAlready, who will be joined by musical guest Amanee Avery and her saxophone.

Lynn also invited a handful of speakers from the area to talk about education, marketing and home ownership, including Tasheka Prewitt and Marijuana Vandyck of Century 21 Affiliated and Genia Stevens of Belwah Media.

The expo takes place Saturday, February 9 from 1-5 p.m. at Roc City Art Complex.

Tickets cost one dollar and proceeds from the expo will support The Center of Hope after-school program in Beloit and the Kendel Sherman Foundation in Rockford.

You can find more information on the event’s Facebook page.
