A Milton High School student is taken into custody by Janesville Police after making a threat towards the school on social media.
A news release from the School District of Milton says that just after 7:00 Friday morning Milton Police notified High School administration of a potential threat to student safety that was found on social media.
Administration immediately called for additional police presence to be at the school at the beginning of the school day and staffed all school entrances with additional staff members. The school was placed in a non-emergency lockdown at the start of first hour, which is 7:30 a.m.
Janesville Police confirmed the location of the student suspected of making the threat at 7:40 a.m. and confirmed that a threat no longer existed for Milton High School.
