Standoff with Janesville Police nets two arrests

Janesville police take two people into custody early Friday morning after officers responded late Thursday night to an armed subject in the 100 block of Linn Street.
The Rock County Communications Center says police were dispatched just after 9:30 p.m. to the report, and officers armed with rifles surrounded the area.
Janesville Police say officers arrested 22-year-old Cole Smith of Janesville for first degree recklessly endangering safety, and 22-year-old Michael Black for four counts of recklessly endangering safety, one count of domestic violence while armed, and three counts of disorderly conduct while armed.
According to a news release, an argument over drugs escalated into a disturbance in which one of the suspects threatened to shoot everyone in the home.
The victim and her four young children were able to make it out safely.
