A 24-year-old Beloit man accused of shooting an acquaintance in the shoulder during an altercation last July won’t be spending any times behind bars.
As part of a plea agreement Christopher Allen Barker plead no contest to, and was found guilty of disorderly conduct by use of a dangerous weapon and battery by use of a dangerous weapon in Rock County Court Wednesday.
According to the criminal complaint Barker’s ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend confronted Barker at his home because they claim he was harassing them. A scuffle ensued on the porch and that’s when Baker is accused of shooting the victim.
In Court Wednesday Judge John Wood withheld Barker’s sentence and handed down two years of probation.
He’s due back in court for a restitution hearing on May 3rd.
