Two children sustained minor injuries when a vehicle crashed into the side of the Janesville KinderCare just after 12:00 p.m. Thursday.
Janesville Police Sergeant Dean Sukus said the injuries were only bruises and a small abrasion, likely caused by debris from the impact.
Sukus said the vehicle came within inches of the children before coming to a stop. They were just laying down to take a nap when the crash occurred.
The parents opted to take the children to the hospital for precautionary reasons, but they were not transported by ambulance.
The other children were taken to a church next door to wait for their parents to come pick them up.
Police believe the woman driving the vehicle may have just mistaken the gas petal for the brake. No foul play is suspected and no criminal charges are expected to be filed.
Sukus said the driver was not injured, but she was pretty shaken up about the incident.
