A Beloit man is charged with first degree reckless homicide in the 2018 overdose death of a woman found in her vehicle.
According to a criminal complaint filed Wednesday, 36-year-old Chaz C. Harris sold heroin to the victim in the parking lot of the Beloit Woodman’s where she overdosed back in December.
Beloit police were dispatched to the report of an unresponsive person the following morning, where they found her dead in her vehicle.
Officers contacted Harris at the Rock County Jail at the beginning of April, and he admitted in the complaint to selling heroin to the victim.
Court records indicate Harris has previous convictions of possession of drug paraphernalia, recklessly endangering safety and domestic violence.
