Over 20 new single-family residences could be coming to Beloit.
Planning and Building Services Director Drew Pennington says the plan commission approved a preliminary subdivision plat for a proposed extension of the Oaks subdivision, located just off of Shopiere Road east of the interstate.
Pennington says the developer recently acquired the property and is already drawing interest in the lots.
Citizens had some concerns about preserving some old trees in the proposed development during a public hearing, and the developer will pay a fee to the city instead of building any new park land to dedicate, as is required by ordinance.
The plan commission will vote again over the final plat at the beginning of July before it goes to the city council for approval.
