The driver in an Orfordville hit and run causing injury makes his first appearance in Rock County Court.

29-year-old Luke Kasten is charged with first degree reckless injury and hit and run causing injury

According to the criminal complaint, the incident stemmed from an argument that started at an Orfordville bar.

The complaint says Kasten was driving home and saw the victim walking. He hit him with his vehicle and left him at the scene without calling 9-1-1.

In court Wednesday, legal intern Ben Flaherty with the district attorney’s office said the victim suffered brain injuries and was put into a medically induced coma.

Court Commissioner Stephen Meyer set a $5,000 cash bail for Kasten with the conditions of no alcohol and no contact with the victim.
