Vets Roll is teaming up with local mental health agencies to host a motorcycle and car ride to raise awareness for veteran suicide and mental health.

The Let Freedom Roll for Military Mental Wellness campaign will feature a 22-mile ride around southern Rock County, in reference to the popular statistic of 22 veterans lost to suicide each day.

Vets Roll Co-Founder Mark Finnegan says the drive will start and end at the Eclipse Center in Beloit. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m.

The ride will be followed by a mental health resource fair until noon. Beloit Psychotherapy and NAMI Rock County are among the service providers who plan to attend.

The proceeds will go to support NAMI’s mental health programs.

Finnegan believes it’s important for the public to be aware of the mental health issues veterans are dealing with, while also making veterans aware that help is available for them.
