A small plane crash-lands in a Jefferson County field.
According to a news release, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the single airplane crash just north of the Fort Atkinson Municipal Airport just before noon Monday.
Deputies were able to speak to the pilot who was the only occupant of the plane and was uninjured.
The pilot reported that after takeoff he experienced an engine failure and tried to return to the airport. He was unable to make it back and instead landed in a field.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.
