A Beloit couple who had eight children taken from their care in March of 2018 after police and social workers found them living in squalid conditions are sentenced to three years of probation.
Judge Karl Hanson also ordered 60 days in jail for 42-year-old Heather McCoy Tuesday morning in Rock County Court.
Last month as part of a plea agreement Heather McCoy and 40-year-old Lakeidric McCoy plead no contest to a felony count of child neglect resulting in great bodily harm and five misdemeanor counts of neglecting a child. They were found guilty of the five misdemeanors and the felony conviction was held open.
