The public comment portion of Janesville City Council meetings won’t have any new limitations.
The council agreed to indefinitely table any ordinance change during their special study session Wednesday afternoon.
Council members Tom Wolfe and Rich Gruber has originally proposed the change to limit public comments to only topics that relate directly to an agenda item.
The idea was to streamline the meetings to only focus on items the council can directly affect.
The council could not reach a consensus on the ordinance and opted to maintain the status quo moving forward.
