A local police department is urging motorists to lock their parked vehicles. Town of Beloit Police Lieutenant Brian Hasse says they’ve had a rash of thefts from unlocked cars recently. He says not one case included a smashed window or forced entry. He says the thieves are simply moving from car to car looking for easy targets. Motorists are also urged to secure any valuable items like purses or laptops.
