The Beloit City Council ratifies the emergency declaration City Manager Lori Curtis-Luther issued last week.
Director of Strategic Communications Sarah Millard says heavy rain washed out part of the bank to the Rock River and emergency repairs were needed to shore up Bluff Street.
Millard says the preliminary estimates indicate the repairs will cost between $200,000 and $300,000 and the City will be seeking aid from the state and county.
