A young woman may be alive today because of a passerby’s decisive action on the Newark Bridge in the town of Beloit. Police Chief Ron Northrup says the good Samaritan was able to supply emergency dispatchers with valuable descriptive information during the incident a little before noon Tuesday. Northrup says this helped police and fire to properly respond. He say the woman eventually reconsidered and is receiving medical assistance.
