Drivers won’t be able to stop at the Janesville rest area along the interstate next month as the Wisconsin Department of Transportation plans a long-term closure.
The southbound rest area No. 17 north of Janesville will close on October 21 and won’t re-open until November 15.
The Department of Transportation says the closure won’t affect the exit ramps to Highway 26 and Highway 14 in Janesville.
The road work and closure is subject to change based on the weather.
Drivers should plan ahead and remain alert for the closure.
