Janesville man charged in downtown machete incident

A Janesville man is recovering from a machete wound after an incident with his roommate.
According to a criminal complaint, the victim said he and 45-year-old Jermahl Campbell smoked K2 and crack cocaine in their Milwaukee Street apartment on Monday before getting into a fight.
The complaint says Campbell went and got a machete and threatened to cut the victim’s head off and kill him.
Police say the victim tried to grab the machete to defend himself, and he received deep cuts in his hand.
The victim walked down Jackson Street to the lobby of the Janesville Police Department, where he requested emergency medical services.
Campbell is charged with second-degree reckless injury and disorderly conduct by use of a dangerous weapon.
He made his initial appearance in Rock County Court Wednesday and signed a $1,000 cash bond Thursday.
