A retired Beloit cop who plead guilty to having sexual contact with a 13 year-old girl more than 100 times will spend the next 12 years behind bars.
Judge John Wood sentenced 63-year-old Larry Woods on a single count of repeated sexual assault of a child Friday morning in Rock County Court.
Judge Wood also sentenced Woods to five years of extended supervision.
The Prosecution had asked that Woods be sentenced to 10 years in prison and 10 years of extended supervision and his defense attorney recommended five years of initial confinement and five years of extended supervision.
Woods plead guilty to a similar charge in federal court in August and faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison when he’s sentenced for that charge in November.
