A local technical college is working to fill the need for skilled manufacturing workers. Blackhawk Technical College Enrollment Development Coordinator Katie Lange calls it critical that more high school students explore opportunities in manufacturing. Lange says part of the reason more high school students don’t consider careers in manufacturing is a misperception about the work. Over the next two days (Thursday and Friday) BTC will be working to change contemporary thought during Manufacturing Days. One-thousand students from Rock, Green, and Walworth County high schools will have a chance to tour local companies and explore careers. The event is part of a national effort to inspire students to pursue careers in manufacturing.
