Heavy rain in September is prompting the Rock County Sheriff’s Office to issue a slow-no-wake order for two sections of the swollen Rock River.
The speed restriction is in place for the section of river running from the northern Rock County line to the West Beloit Rock Townline Road Bridge.
The U.S. Geological Survey Gauge at Lake Koshkonong is reading 8.09 feet, and the gauge for Afton is reading 8.07 feet.
County ordinance requires a slow no wake speed restriction to be put in place when the gauges read 8 feet, and six-and-a-half feet respectively.
