Beloit high-speed chase ends along I-39/90 near Rockford

A high-speed chase starts in Beloit and ends along Interstate 39/90 in Illinois near Rockford.
Police received an anonymous tip that a wanted suspect was seen in a vehicle, and officers began pursuit around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Shirland and Townline Avenues.
The vehicle fled at a high rate speed and proceeded to drive recklessly through downtown Beloit, into South Beloit and eventually onto the interstate.
25-year-old Keanthony Spence and his passenger, 23-year-old Stephan Ross-Traylor, eventually stopped and took off on foot near mile marker 8 in Illinois, by the Highway 173 exit and Machesney Park.
Police deployed K-9 units and took both wanted suspects into custody.
Court records show a warrant issued for Ross-Traylor on firearms and drug charges from earlier this month. Spence has been wanted since a warrant was issued in July on a charge of fleeing officers.
Beloit police were assisted by officers from Machesney Park, Roscoe, South Beloit, Loves Park, the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office and Illinois State Patrol.
