Memories of the former General Motors plant in Janesville will live on in the publication of former Senator Tim Cullen’s new book “Disassembled: A Native Son of Janesville and General Motors”
He calls it a story of grit, race, gender, and wishful thinking and what it means for America.
The book details the closing of the plant in 2008 and its impact on the city of Janesville.
He co-chaired a state task force that tried to save the Janesville plant, and he shares his perspective on what went wrong in the book.
Cullen also dives into race and gender issues inside the plant and the dissembling of those problems.
The book was officially released this weekend, and he plans to hold book signings in the area over the coming weeks.
