The Milton School District breaks ground on $60-million of referendum approved projects. School Board President Joe Martin says the projects will proceed in three phases. First renovations will occur at all four elementary schools, then a major addition will come at the middle school, and finally renovations and an addition at the high school. Interim Superintendent Rich Dahman says the renovations will really allow the district to have the space it needs and move forward with both academic and extra-curricular facilities. Mayor Anissa Welsh says the project really shows how the public wants to invest in education, and how that reflects a healthy community. The groundbreaking was held Thursday afternoon at Milton East Elementary before a respectably sized crowd. The project is expected to last about two years.
