Local grocer adds low-tech ordering option

A local independent grocer is adding a new service to help seniors and disabled residents with their grocery shopping.
Maurer’s Market owner Jeff Maurer says they’ve started phone-in grocery ordering in Janesville.
They’ve been doing it at their Wisconsin Dells stores for years, and he believes he’s the first to bring the free service to our area.
When customers call, an employee will enter the order into their online system, so they can save the order for future convenience.
Maurer says it’s a free service with no delivery fee to help those who might not have access to computers.
