A 36-year-old Mcconnell, Illinois man comes to a plea deal in the drunk driving death of his friend on a rural Rock County road. Judge Barbara McCrory Wednesday accepted a guilty plea from Cori L Reed in a deal which dropped five out of six counts against him. Reed was traveling east on Inman Parkway a year ago in September when he drove through a marked T-intersection at Shopiere Road and rolled his SUV several times into a corn field. His friend was not wearing a seatbelt and later died at the hospital. In exchange for the guilty plea, the prosecution also agreed not to argue for more than 12-year’s imprisonment at Reed’s sentencing January 21st.
