The Interstate 39/90 expansion project reaches a tangible milestone that should be a welcomed sight for commuters.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation opened up three southbound lanes between Madison and Edgerton and returned the speed limit to 70 miles per hour.
The 20 mile section is complete, and they plan to finish and reopen three lanes in the northbound direction on Thursday, November 21st if the weather cooperates.
Construction on the interstate from Edgerton to the Illinois state line will continue until they shut down for the winter.
The interstate work around Janesville and Beloit is scheduled to finish next fall.
