Salvation Army Bell Ringers will be taking to the streets and storefronts starting Friday. Salvation Army Rock County Special Events Coordinator Patrice Gabower calls this their biggest fundraiser of the year. Gabower says the money raised will help provide food, temporary housing, and other emergency services to people in need year round. She says bell ringing volunteers are still needed. A total of 6200 hours of bell ringing needs to be filled typically at two-hours a stretch. Fundraising goals will be announced at special kick-off events at Maurer’s Market in Janesville and at Culver’s in Beloit.  Bell ringing ends Christmas Eve day.
