A 62-year-old Juda man is dead following a two-vehicle crash in the town of Avon.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched to West Highway 81 at West Beloit Newark Road just after 6:00 Friday night.
Investigation determined that Fred E. Nafzger Jr. was attempting to pass another vehicle on Highway 81 when he struck another vehicle head on.
Nafzger was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 20-year-old man from Benton, was pinned inside his vehicle and transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The road was closed for nearly six hours.
