Membership in a local business organization is surging after several months of decline late last year. Forward Janesville President John Beckord says a changing business environment has had an impact. Beckord says across the nation membership organizations are challenged because bigger businesses often don’t have local decision makers. He says it can be tough to influence where companies should spend their discretionary dollars. Forward Janesville appears to be recovering, with membership increasing almost 5% so far this year, currently sitting at 508 businesses in October.
