A young man from Janesville who’s accused of raping a nine-year-old boy in a park bathroom in July of last year is found competent to understand and assist in his own defense.

Rock County Judge Barbara McCrory is eager to see the 1st degree sexual assault of a child under 13 case against 19-year-old Dakota Potts move forward.

Potts had been scheduled for a plea hearing in August but his lawyer raised concerns that he has autism and a competency evaluation was ordered.
