Medical Examiner identifies person shot to death by Beloit Police

The Rock County Medical Examiner releases the name of the Janesville man shot Tuesday afternoon by Beloit Police.

According to a news release 23-year-old Montay Penning’s death was the result of firearm related trauma.

The death remains under investigation by the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation.

Beloit Police say Penning was armed when three officers shot him in the 1800 block of Harrison Avenue.

The names of the officers who shot Penning have not been released.
