A local community bolsters prohibitions against tobacco products. Edgerton Mayor Chris Lund says the city council voted to add “vaping” products to its ordinance prohibiting the use of tobacco products within 25-feet of government buildings and gatherings in public parks. Lund calls it a public health issue. He says the council had considered prohibiting the use of these products anywhere in public parks, but didn’t want smokers to feel excluded from community events. The Healthy Edgerton Coalition helped promote the ordinance change.
