A Janesville man faces domestic abuse charges for allegedly attacking a woman after she teased him about being a Minnesota Vikings fan.
Janesville police met with the victim the morning after the Green Bay Packers beat the Vikings on Monday night, and she told police 56-year-old Mark E. Mueller had strangled her, punched her in the face and threatened to kill her, according to the criminal complaint filed in Rock Count court.
Mueller is charged with felony strangulation and suffocation along with misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim told police they had been living together for several months and he had strangled her in the past.
A Rock County court commissioner set a signature bond for Mueller and ordered he have no contact with the victim.
