A lot of new faces are at the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, as well as familiar faces in new positions. Sheriff Troy Knudson calls it an incredible year for staffing. Knudson says near the end of the year close to four-dozen new people had been hired, and some 80-staffing changes were made. Knudson says the turn-over is generational with such instances typically coming in waves. He adds how impressed he’s been with the qualifications of the new hires thus far. The sheriff’s office isn’t the only organization facing this type of turn-over. Fire departments and school district’s have also reported the need to replace an unusual number of retiring personnel.
