Beloit man sentenced in violent domestic incident

A 30-year-old Beloit man will be spending eight-years in prison after pleading guilty to charges related to the stabbing and bludgeoning of the mother of his child during a domestic incident. Rock County prosecutor Mason Braunschweig called Jonathan Castro’s case unusual because he had no criminal record. Castro had originally been accused of Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide after telling police he’d intended to “finish her off” during the attack in the home they shared on Colley Road in October of 2018.  Judge Karl Hanson Wednesday also sentenced Castro to ten-years extended supervision, and ordered him to have no direct contact with the victim.
