Fire reported at Janesville duplex

Two families are displaced after a duplex caught fire on Janesville’s west side early Wednesday morning.
The Janesville Fire department says units responded to the home on the 2600 block of Harvard Drive just before 4:00 a.m. after a passing resident noticed smoke emitting from the residence.
The fire originated from a bathroom exhaust fan. Flames traveled into the attic and the common wall between the two units.
Both families, one including three adults and one child and the other five adults and a child, were displaced. Red Cross is assisting the families. No injuries were reported.
