The Wisconsin Department of Corrections is notifying the Beloit Police Department that a registered sex offender will temporarily live in the City.
According to a news release, 37-year-old Joshua S. Sweat will be released from prison Tuesday and reside at 1216 Portland Avenue.
The release said that location is a temporary living placement location rented by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
Officials said Sweat’s targeted victims were juvenile females. He sexually assaulted a cognitively delayed juvenile victim who became pregnant and was convicted of second-degree sexual assault of a child in November 2006 and second-degree sexual assault of a child in July 2009.
Sweat remains on supervision until 2032, and is required to register with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry.
