Local community hires its first city engineer

Growth has been good for Milton, but City Administrator Al Hulick says it comes at a price. Hulick says a review of engineering costs shows the city has been spending more than $275 thousand a year for a consulting engineer. Hulick says after looking at an analysis of what it would take to bring engineering in house, city officials believe the costs would be less for a city staff member to take on those tasks. Hulick says the city has therefore decided to hire it’s first ever city engineer, who will be on the job starting in March.
