A new trade deal with Canada and Mexico, along with a record number of entries at this year’s World Championship Cheese Contest in Madison, pleases an award winning local cheese master. Steve Stettler with Decatur Dairy in Brodhead says the increasing interest and quality can only help state exports. Stettler says no one ever dreamed of exports years ago, but now it’s becoming a big thing. He says companies from other countries are now coming here to look for something new they can take back. The contest March 3-5 next month at the Monona Terrace Convention Center will have close to 3700 entries from 26 nations and 36 U.S. states.
