Having a bunch of rookies isn’t necessarily a bad thing for a police department. Beloit Police Chief David Zibolski considers it an opportunity to set a tone of high ethics and integrity. Zibolski says the recruits have an understanding they are here to be guardians of the community. He says the culture in the department is very healthy from that perspective, and getting new officers allows the opportunity to embed that mind set. The chief welcomed three new officers this week. They include Mayelly Muniz of Beloit, Dillon Hagstrom of South Beloit, and Alexander Limberg of Roscoe. He says the latest additions bring the department to within one sworn officers of a full staff.
